Student forms are the major focus of Pocket
eSchool. They contain the demographic, contact,
schedule, discipline, health, and grade keeping data.
Below is a quick tour of student forms.
 |
A tap on the Students button, on the Main
Menu, gives an alphabetized student
list. Other orders can be obtained with the My Order
and the Queries options, available from the main menu.
There are also several graphical views of student lists. |
 |
This is the Gallery view that shows 8 students at a
time. This form can be scrolled, 8 students at a
time. Any student can be selected from the Gallery
view by tapping the student's picture. The tap on
the Gallery picture launches the student's picture
form, shown next. |
 |
When the Tap Link is set to Picture
in the Student List form or by tapping
on Jane Albrecht's picture in one of the picture views,
the Student's Picture form is launched. The Picture
form shows a small picture of the student and a data
grid with five visible data items. The picture can be
made full-screen by tapping the small picture. The data
item grid can be scrolled to reveal other data items lower
down in the data grid. |
 |
There are several ways to select other student data
screens. Tapping on the cycle icon cycles though most of
the available student screens. On the Palm, grade keeping
and discipline screens are accessed using a Jump option.
The figure on the left shows
the full demographic screen. Its data grid shows up
to ten data items at a time. |
 |
Contact information is presented in two grids on the
Contacts form. The top grid lists the contact's relationship
and contact's name. The bottom grid lists the data detail
for the contact person selected in the top grid. Pocket
eSchool can handle any number of persons in the top
grid and any number of data detail rows in the bottom
grid. Both grids become scrollable, if needed. |
 |
The course entries listed in a
Student's Schedule
display is determined by a Term Filter. This filter
can be set to display the student's schedule for any
day in the school year or for any term. The figure
at the left shows Jane's schedule for the spring
semester. The schedule display has many additional
options; the major one is the option to "jump" to
various other displays for any listed course,
teacher, room, section roster list, schedule detail,
roster thumbnails, and roster galleries. |
 |
Whenever a list form (such
as the schedule form above) shows data in an
abbreviated format, there is a Detail form available.
It shows more data, as is the case for the
Schedule Detail form shown on the left. |
